Morning session - Managing Your Team, including the role of Coaching and Mentoring
One of the key roles as an Assistant or Deputy Head is to manage your peers, in partnership with your Headteacher. Developing the skills needed to maintain and grow successful working partnerships is key to your success as a Deputy. This area of leadership can be demanding, personally challenging and sometimes very demoralising. Effective coaching and effective mentoring are vital skills for every Senior Leader to have. Afternoon session - Monitoring - Beyond the Obvious!
Data, Pupil Information, is very important, but it only gives us part of the story about a school. How do you build a clear picture of your school to enable you to plan strategically and consider what practical steps need to be taken to raise expectations and create a culture of high aspirations?
Delegates attending this course will:-
Be given strategies for building trust, sometimes in difficult situations
Learn how to successfully manage conversations to engage others and build a sense of shared purpose
Understand the important differences between coaching and mentoring.
Develop their knowledge of coaching, and explore how different aspects of coaching can have a different outcome.

them to act to interact purposefully and professionally with colleagues
