Leading a Mentally Healthy School Led by Jane Jackson

The programme has been developed by Health Education England (HEE) and the School Development Support Agency (SDSA) in partnership with an expert group of educational psychologists, education consultants and mental health organisations and responds to the areas highlighted in the Green Paper – ‘Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health Provision’ (December 2017) and in the latest “Early Years Inspection handbook for Ofsted registered provision” (September, 2019) where it identifies how leaders will be inspected on the well being of their children.
*participants must commit to all 3 sessions.
This course is about Leading a mentally healthy setting with aims to enable reflection, action planning and to develop a whole school approach to emotional well being and mental health.
The 3 twilights will cover :

· Why have a whole school approach?
· The importance of ethos and culture
· Strategic planning
· Policies and leadership
· Signs and symptoms
· Procedures for impact
· Support for staff development
· Monitoring of outcomes
