Safeguarding-Culture not Compliance

03 December 2019 @ 13:30 - 16:00
How can leaders evaluate the effectiveness of their culture of safeguarding in their schools?

Helen has been a successful school improvement adviser for 15 years, first with Hertfordshire Standards and School Effectiveness and subsequently with Herts for Learning (HfL). Prior to that, she was a headteacher for 13 years, working in schools in challenging circumstances. She resigned from her post as one of the directors of HfL at the end of February 2018 and now runs her own school improvement business. Her specific areas of interest are provision for vulnerable pupils, including for those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, provision for pupils who are supported by the pupil premium grant, leadership and management in educational settings, safeguarding and school-self-evaluation.

 Tuesday 3rd December

This session will focus on how leaders can evaluate the effectiveness of their culture of safeguarding in their respective schools. Helen will offer some questions which leaders might ask back at school about the culture of safeguarding. She will offer some possible answers!

Helen will suggest a framework for self-evaluation and there will be an opportunity for you to begin to complete a self-evaluation tool during the session.

The sessions will be held at Bovingdon Primary Academy, HP3 0HL from 1.30pm-4pm.

If you would like to book a place please email admin@westhertsteachingschool.org.uk or book online.
