Mindfulness for Wellbeing- Led by Dave Austin

This 8 week course is aimed at all staff in school and draws on the best practice in both Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Relief (MBSR).

Dave has a well established meditation practice and attends meditation retreats on a regular basis. He has many years experience of helping people to make the changes they want. His qualifications include: teaching, training, counselling, coaching, and NLP. His mindfulness training was undertaken with Enter Mindfulness in London. In his mindfulness training Dave receives regular supervision and adheres to the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers good practice guidelines for teaching mindfulness courses.

The course will give you:

· Skills to develop your own mindful practice and behaviours

· Techniques to manage your own levels of stress, anxiety and mood

· Simple tools to enable you to work more effectively with colleagues

What to bring

You will need to bring something to lie on, e.g. a beach towel, or yoga mat, plus a blanket and a cushion for sessions 1, 2 and 8, as we invite people to lie on the floor for the body scan exercise in these sessions. Please also bring an open mind and a willingness to share!
