Lesley is an experienced former Headteacher and researcher who is passionate about growing the best leaders for our schools and currently runs very successful Head and Deputy Forums across Hertfordshire.
Schools are being encouraged to become more evidence based in their practice, as demonstrated by the development of the Education Endowment Foundation’s ‘Teaching and Learning Toolkit’.
The Learning Forum for Primary Headteachers, to be held on a regular basis, is being launched on the 20th February. If you want to develop your leadership thinking by discussing practice and research, this forum will support you in fostering a more evidence based approach.
We aim to achieve this through increasing knowledge and developing understanding of:
a) effective leadership, pedagogy and professional development
b) strategies to make our schools research informed
Great emphasis is placed on discussing practice alongside the relevant research. A very positive by product of the sessions is the productive networking which develops beyond the sessions.
In Learning Forums run in other areas of the county the sessions have focussed on a wide range of topics including; the facets of an effective vision, teacher led enquiry, assessment, developing a research rich school,Mastery maths, middle leadership and increasing the impact of teaching assistants
