Big Heads Ofsted Information Session

Led By Helen Jones

Helen has been a successful school improvement adviser for 15 years, first with Hertfordshire Standards and School Effectiveness and subsequently with Herts for Learning (HfL). Prior to that, she was a headteacher for 13 years, working in schools in challenging circumstances. She resigned from her post as one of the directors of HfL at the end of February 2018 and now runs her own school improvement business. Her specific areas of interest are provision for vulnerable pupils, including for those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, provision for pupils who are supported by the pupil premium grant, leadership and management in educational settings, safeguarding and school-self-evaluation.

On the day:

During this full day session, Helen will discuss with you the core principles of the new education inspection framework. She will explain the key judgements for each aspect of inspection in turn. She will focus particularly on areas where there is renewed emphasis, such as the curriculum and reading. She will support you to understand how the new judgement of quality of education and how the two separate judgements of personal development and behaviour apply to provision in your schools. She will draw on experiences from pilot inspections she has taken part in. There will be an opportunity for you to reflect on the implications of inspection requirements for your schools and to action plan accordingly. Helen will be available to answer, as best she can, any questions, queries or concerns you have.

This session will be held at The Boxmoor Trust, HP1 2RE

The cost of the session will be £90 per head.
