Lesley is an experienced former Headteacher and researcher who is passionate about growing the best leaders for our schools. She is also an experienced trainer and runs very successful Head and Deputy Forums across Hertfordshire.
Deputy Head and Assistant Heads’ Learning Forums led by Lesley Stevens are held every half term to support leaders by increasing their knowledge of evidence based practice, and thus helping participants to make more informed decisions.
We aim to achieve this through increasing participants’ knowledge and understanding of:
a) Effective leadership, pedagogy and professional development
b) Strategies to make our schools research informed
Great emphasis will be placed on discussing and sharing practice together with the relevant research.
From our previous experience of Learning Forums, productive networking is a significant positive outcome which extends beyond the sessions. Participants will also be kept up to date as to where to access a wealth of resources that are now becoming increasingly available, through the Internet.
Topics will be chosen by the participants and could cover a range of topics including the role of Vision and Values, Assessment for Learning and Assessment beyond Levels, the Education Endowment Foundation, strategies for effective professional development, Effective Early Years.
