Embedding the Computing Curriculum through Cross Curriculum Links

Developing understanding and building confidence in programming and embedding the computing curriculum. Second session for Key Stage 2. Led By Dave Presky

Dave works as a Specialist Computing and E Safety teacher, working from Nursey to Year 8, as well as delivering ITT (Initial Teacher Training). He has been accredited the Naace ICT mark twice and is both an SLE (Specialist Leader of Education) and a PLP (Primary Lead Practitioner). He has worked collaboratively with and shared best practice for the Children's Commissioner, Parent Zone, BATA,  BETT, Understanding Modern Government, CrickSoft and the Digital Practitioners forum.  

 

Foundation/Key Stage 1 course : Monday 15th October 2018

During this session we will be developing understanding and build confidence of the following curriculum areas:

· share hands on experience for teaching programming across the curriculum 

· understand what algorithms are and how they are implemented as programs on digital devices.

· create and debug simple programs.

· use logical reasoning to predict the behaviour of simple programs

Key Stage 2 course: Monday  12th November 2018

During this session we will be developing understanding and build confidence of the following curriculum areas:  

· share hands on experience for teaching programming across the curriculum

· design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals

· use sequence, selection, and repetition in programs; work with variables and various forms of input and output

· use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs
