Register for your place online. Applicants completing their programme application are asked to identify whether they have been recommended by a delivery partner. Please select West Herts Teaching School from the drop down list and then enter our partner allocation code, which is WHTS.
Registration for Autumn 2020 is open and will close on 24th July.
When completing the registration form you will need to know your teacher reference number (TRN) and your school URN, size and type. If you are unsure of your TRN then you can contact CAPITA on 01325 745000 and they will be able to provide this information. The school detail required can be found on the government schools database found here.
Once we receive a completed registration form we will contact your headteacher to request confirmation that they support your place. Once confirmation from your head is received we will email you to confirm your place on the qualification.
All modules focus on improving the effectiveness of leadership practice and consist of workplace learning and practice activities; face-to-face workshops and online learning. Candidates will have the opportunity to:
Activities within modules have been designed to stimulate and challenge thinking, build knowledge, skills and expertise, and promote change and improvement in leadership behaviours, capability and capacity.
Delivery covers a 12 month period with the expectation that candidates will submit for final assessment within 18 months. During this time you will:
The NPQSL final assessment process has been designed to enable candidates to demonstrate they can deliver successful and sustainable school improvement in their school setting, and can use the experience to reflect upon and improve their leadership competencies. The final assessment process will comprise two assessed tasks drawn from a candidate’s work in their school in which they lead at a team level for an extended period, on a school improvement priority. The school improvement tasks will include written evidence/appropriate documentation submitted by the candidate and further evidence/verification from their sponsor and Headteacher.
* Final assessment activity will be funded for all candidates from English state-maintained schools and academies.
